Each of the students studied the Illusions of Depth and applied it in their one-point perspective drawing. Drawing depth is a hard concept for 6th grade students to understand but the projects turned out great. While driving around Albion ask your child to show you some of examples of the illusions of Depth.
EC Option 1: Use different object to recreate the alphabet.
EC Option 2: Draw the other half of an image from a magazine. EC Option 3: Draw 12 different facial features.
For this unit on the Middle Ages the students had the option to create a traditional Illuminated letter or put a modern spin on lettering in a zentangle or descriptive letter. See if you can tell which students picked which project.

6th grade students completed a mini-project on Australia. They students learned about the Aboriginal painting technique called dot painting. Students chose to make an ornament or pendant and painted it using dot painting. Examples of each are below. The students 6th grade students have finished their Ancient Greece project. The students learned about the Three Orders; Ionic, Doric, and Corinthian and the three styles of Greek sculpture, Archaic, Classical, and Hellenistic. Each student created an Ancient Greece style building and added a background, middle ground, and foreground based around their created theme.
