Pretty good for our first drawing project! Project description in former post.
6th grade students completed a mini-project on Australia. They students learned about the Aboriginal painting technique called dot painting. Students chose to make an ornament or pendant and painted it using dot painting. Examples of each are below. The students 6th grade students have finished their Ancient Greece project. The students learned about the Three Orders; Ionic, Doric, and Corinthian and the three styles of Greek sculpture, Archaic, Classical, and Hellenistic. Each student created an Ancient Greece style building and added a background, middle ground, and foreground based around their created theme.
Each of the students created and designed their own sketchbook to be used for draftwork, taking notes, and documenting progress throughout the year. We glued in the course description and took notes on the Elements of Art & Principles of Design. Look below for directions and examples.
